Postdoc position on Lifecycle Management

The University of Trento is looking for top candidates for a postdoc position.

Context

The Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Trento, Italy, seeks applications for a post-doctoral position on Self-Administering Lifecycle Management, starting in May 2009.

The position is in the context of the OKKAM European Research Project, and will involve the design, implementation and evaluation of novel models and methods for managing the creation and evolution of entities in an Entity Name System (ENS). These methods will be heavily based on usage-log analysis, and should also aim at improving the performance of the matching module within ENS.

Profile

The candidate should have a PhD in Computer Science, a strong publication record, and solid background in one or more of the following fields: databases, data analysis, log analysis, data summarization, streaming algorithms, self-management systems, entity identification and management.

Proficiency in English and programming experience in Java are expected. Strong system skills as well as experience with real-life deployments are a plus.

 

Tasks

Autonomous and responsible work, as well as collaboration with project partners. Supervision of more junior researchers.

Salary

The salary is 30,000Euro/year net (after all applicable taxes).

The position is open form May 1st, 2009, and the contract is available until June 30th, 2010.
